AfterpartY's sound combines the best of what 80's synth pop had to offer and then packs in modern rock guitars, disco beats and playful yet powerful lead vocals spouting lyrics that definitely have something to say garnering comparisons to Blondie and Metric.  AfterpartY was created by 20-year-old vocalist Kristina B and keyboardist Idan Erez at 3 am in a downtown loft in Toronto in 2004 bored with the current radio fare and setting their sights on combining quirky hooks and great melody with irresistible beats.

The band has just finished putting the final touches on their debut full length disc “Die for Memphis”, which includes tracks produced by Haydain Neale (Jacksoul) and Rob Sanzo (Sum 41, Danko Jones) as well as mixes by Tony Hoffer (Stars, Silversun Pickups, Belle & Sebastian) and Mark Needham (The Killers, Blondie).  It will be released in March 2010 on Sound of Pop Records, distributed in Canada through Fontana North (Universal Music Canada).  For the time being check out their exclusive 4 song EP “we come unarmed” only available from this site or direct from the band.
