Thanks to some much needed assistance by MEC and NS Dept. of Health Promotion & Protection, work continues on a new trail system on 50 acres. Your volunteer help is needed to make this a reality.

Welcome to the
Annapolis Valley Mountain Bike Association (AVMBA). We are a group of dedicated volunteers working to build and maintain sustainable trails in the Annapolis Valley and act as a positive voice for Mountain Biking.

Some of the things in the works for 2008:
* Complete a new trail system
* Host a MTB race in the valley
* hold a women's mountain bike clinic/workshop trail use

IMBA Rules of the Trail

1. Leave No Trace.
practice low-impact cycling. Wet trails are more vulnerable to damage. When the trailbed is soft, consider other riding options. Stay on existing trails. Don't cut switchbacks. Be sure to pack out at least as much as you pack in.

2. Always Yield Trail.
Let your fellow trail users know you're coming. A friendly greeting or bell is considerate and works well; don't startle others. Show your respect when passing by slowing to a walking pace or stopping. Anticipate other trail users around corners/blind spots.

3. Never Scare Animals.
Animals are startled by an unannounced approach, a sudden movement, or a loud noise. When passing horses use special care and follow directions from the horseback riders.
